Francophonie Exhibition - FIACAFI
The Francophonie Diversity Showcase is a competitive section dedicated to contemporary French-language cinema. Held with the institutional and technical cooperation of the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship, UNESCO, and the French Embassy in Brazil, the Showcase serves as a platform for collaboration between Ibero-America, Africa, and the global Francophone space. Its objective is to promote cinematographies committed to aesthetic, racial, territorial, and gender diversity.

Registration and Deadlines

Period : From March 16 to May 30, 2026.

Deadline: Registration closes at 11:00 PM (Brasilia time).

Registration: The official submission form will be available exclusively through the button below, opening at 00:10 on March 16th and closing at 23:00 on May 30th, 2026 (Brasilia time).
Eligibility Criteria
The call for entries is open to works from member countries of the Francophonie and their diasporas.

Europe : Switzerland, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

Americas : Canada (Quebec) and Haiti.

Africa : Senegal, Ivory Coast, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Gabon, Mali, among others.

Asia : Vietnam and Cambodia.
Priority Selection: Works directed or produced by Black, Afro-diasporic, Indigenous, women, and LGBTQIAPN+ filmmakers will be prioritized.
Technical Specifications, The following will be accepted:

Categories : Short films (10-30 min) and Feature films (70-120 min)

Genres : Fiction, documentary, animation, and hybrid/experimental languages.

Timeline : Projects completed between 2019 and 2026.

Language : Originally in French.
Important Note: Films may be accepted into the Official Selection for Competition; the selection committee is the sole decision-maker regarding the category in which a selected work will be screened.
Awards and Governance
The selection committee is composed of professionals from the national and international audiovisual sector, with technical supervision from the cultural team of a Francophone member country. The selected films compete for the awards for Best Francophone Feature Film and Best Francophone Short Film.
Execution and Circulation
The festival will take place from August 9th to 16th, 2026. The selected works will be exhibited simultaneously in the cities of São Paulo, Salvador, Brasília, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, and Belo Horizonte, promoting direct cultural exchange between Brazil and the Francophone countries.
Note: FIACAFI may offer institutional hospitality support primarily to the Director or Producer of the selected work, including travel, accommodation, food and insurance costs, with a maximum limit of €3,200, subject to availability and festival criteria.
